What is intercession?
Intercession is defined as, "the action of intervening on behalf of another." Throughout scripture we see time and again the value of prayer and intercession. Abraham, was known as "a friend of God", and he interceded on behalf of his fellow man. The prophets interceded on behalf of Israel, leaders and nations. Moses interceded for his people, but he also offered prayer to Pharaoh that the Lord would end each plague. The New Testament books are often opened and closed with prayers for others, as well as petition for prayer. We often ask friends and family for prayer during particular times of need. Intercession is coming to the Lord in relationship, on behalf of another, and not only making petitions, but communing with God regarding the lives of others, and seeking His will and heart in any given situation. Intercession is more than just calling out petitions and requests, but it is also taking the time listen, and hear from the heart of God.
What makes intercession prophetic?
A person can seek God in prayer for many reasons. There are too many people who don't know there is so much more to God than just asking Him to get us out of trouble, or to save a loved one who is sick, or to grant a wish. God is relational, and prophetic intercession is not just coming to Him with a list of "will You please....", but coming to Him with an understanding that we are seeking to fulfill His plans, His designs and heart for our lives, and for the lives of those around us. Prophetic intercession is coming to God with a heart ready to listen and with an expectation to interact with heaven, not just to fulfill our wants and needs, but to become a part of the bigger picture. His Picture. His design. Intercession is the prayer, and the prophetic part comes by seeing and hearing what is being relayed to us, from Heaven.
Do you pray for personal needs too, or just for businesses?
I would be honored to pray for you, your family, or your ministry. In fact, the first time I was approached by a friend who asked me to be her intercessor, it was entirely personal. When you are filling out the form, just write "NA" in the areas that ask about your business.
Why do you charge money for intercession?
We are all called to use our gifts and talents, and an honorable way to use them is in service to others. Some are given the gift of teaching, and become teachers, and we never consider why we would pay them to teach. Others are given musical talents, like amazing singing voices or an ability to play instruments, and there is no shame in receiving compensation for using their gift to bless the rest of us with their music! Well, I certainly was not blessed with musical talent. I cannot carry a beat as much as I have tried all of my life! But I can do other things, and intercession is one of them. When I seek the Lord in prayer, I do get to see and hear things in the spirit realm, and I am honored to use this ability as a service to others, in order to encourage and bless. I know how much I love to receive prayer, and my life has been impacted time and again by prophetic insights. I simply choose to share intercession in service, as an accountant chooses to use their gift with numbers to serve, and as I found out after two semesters of accounting in college, working with numbers is certainly not a gift that all of us receive!
Is prophetic intercession fortune telling or new age?
No. The prophetic gift comes from knowing the voice of God apart from other voices. This comes by spending time getting to know His voice, and His unique ways He speaks to each of us. God speaks in so many ways, and just a few are through His Word, dreams and visions, discernment and many others. There are a lot of spiritual "voices" out there, but I am only interested in seeking the Spirit of God, who always speaks to build up and encourage us along our paths.
Do you have to be a Christian to receive intercession and prophecy?
No, absolutely not, I would be happy to pray for you regardless of your spiritual path, although you will need to be comfortable with me praying in Jesus' name.
